As some of you are aware, us bloggers were given the opportunity to receive our very own personalised coca cola bottle at Britmum’s Live, with our blog name on it. I have to say I
was still am, really chuffed with mine as I love a gimmick and it’s so personal with no one else having the same as me.
Coke is also my drink of choice if I have to have a soft drink… Of course, wine is my actual drink of choice, however; we all know that it is not an acceptable drink before lunch time!
Speaking to the girls on the Coke stand, I found a few things out that dispelled a myth or two. For instance, people always laugh at me when I say I can’t drink tea or coffee after 3pm because it keeps me awake at night… However, I CAN drink a glass of Coke!
I now know, that is because there isn’t as much caffeine in it as people are lead to believe!
For instance I drink full (fat knackers) Coke, as I can’t stand the taste of sweeteners in the diet one, (although I did get to taste a Coke Zero which was pretty yummy too). A normal can has 32g of caffeine opposed to 50g in a cup of tea,100g in a mug of instant coffee and a whopping great 140g in a mug of filter coffee. In fact, even a bar of plain chocolate has more than a can of Coke coming in at 50g.
When I was pregnant I cut right back on the amount I drank, due to the health service/government’s scare mongering tactics. In actual fact a pregnant woman is safely allowed up to 200g of caffeine a day, which meant I could have had one cup of tea in the morning and three cans of coke thereafter…
